THE 10th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS WINNERS ANNOUNCED The IDA Juries have finalized this year’s annual Design Awards winners selections.
May 08 2017 Los Angeles, Paolo Minola | minoxdesign of Italy was awarded: First Prize in Home Interior Products Competition for the Folding trivet Project.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This folding trivet is part of Villeroy & Boch Cooking Elements range project. Made by high quality silicone, nonstick, heat resistant up to 240 degrees. The folding lines have a minimum thickness which allows a perfect fold (this feature is its main key point). There are many other folding trivets in the market, but this one is made by one silicone piece only, which is its second key point: all the others use at least 2 or more pieces and materials, or they have joints that will wear out with use and washing. I worked closely with Sourcing and Technical teams in order to achieve the minimum thickness for allowing the folding and to find a good surface finish for a good grip and tactile feeling. In 2 sizes: 18cm x 18cm and 18cm x 27cm.

THE 10th ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN AWARDS HONORABLE MENTION WINNERS ANNOUNCED The IDA Juries have finalized the 10th annual Design Awards Honorable Mention winners selections.
May 08 2017 Los Angeles, Paolo Minola | minoxdesign of Italy was Awarded: Honorable Mention in Kitchen Accessories/Tabletop Competition for the Oil/vinegar spout Project.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This spout is part of a set of oil and vinegar dispensers for Villeroy & Boch Cooking Elements range project, but its concept is adaptable and can be extended to different sizes and different bottle shapes. It features an innovative system of fluid drainage, which is its main key-point. It also features an innovative cap system, making use of silicone’s natural flexibility and resistance: on top of the spout there is a thin membrane (forming part of the spout itself) that acts as a cap, keeping the content protected in the dispenser (but not sealed: ok for domestic use). Its second main key-point. There are many other spouts in the market, but this one is made by one silicone piece only.

About IDA A handful of designers, thinkers and entrepreneurs created the International Design Awards in 2007 as a response to the lack of recognition and celebration for smart and sustainable multidisciplinary design. The International Design Awards (IDA) exists to recognize, celebrate and promote legendary design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in Architecture, Interior, Product, Graphic, and Fashion Design. IDA aspires to draw attention to the iconoclasm of design world wide, conceptualizing and producing great work.
